Honey is the oldest sweeteners, which comes with a wide variety of benefits. This is the reason why, in UK there are many persons who decide to start a family business and who look for honey bees for sale.

Reasons why you should invest in your own honey bees:

Apiculture is a common idea of business in UK, especially if you have a large garden. However, the main reason that determines people to buy their own bees is that they can benefit from pure honey. There were many cases when people were disappointed by the quality of the products that they found in the supermarkets. Not to mention that you can save a lot of money, if you have your own honey bees colonies.

On the other hand, there are many persons who claim that apiculture can be an expensive activity. But if you have a good management of your budget, you can transform this hobby into a real family business. Therefore, you have to learn how to take good care of your bees. Here are some tips that we can provide.

How to take good care of your bees:

  • The hardest time of the year for your bees is winter. Even if they usually take their winter snooze, it does not mean that you do not have anything to worry about. There are a few things that you have to take into consideration. Firstly, you have to get rid of the snow that blocks the entrance of your beehive.
  • Secondly, you do not have to take all of their honey. Believe it or not, honey is the source which keeps your bees alive during the cold season. Experts say that bees consume about 50 to 60 pounds of honey. But this is not all. Despite honey, you should put enough bees’ food inside the hive. This special food can be found in pet shops and it is a replacement of flowers’ pollen. Experts recommend you to be careful because there were many cases when bees died because of starvation.
  • Thirdly, do not forget to check them from time to time. These are called “routine inspections” and in case you notice that there are any dead bees in your hives, you have to take them from there.
  • Last but not least, make your plan because bees need a garden full of nectar-rich plants. However, during spring this is your principal mission. Buy seeds and plant them when the weather is fine. Those who deal with apiculture recommend investing especially in rosemary, dill, lavender or Echinacea – which can prove some good suggestions for amazing bee food.
